Why are there different intensity levels on the Regenerator?

Answer

There are different intensity levels on the Regenerator so that the therapy administrator can determine at which rate they want to administer the therapy. The lower the intensity, the less heat that is delivered to the tissues (and felt on the surface of the skin).

For example – at 100% intensity the tissue temperature increases 1 degree C every 2 -3 minutes. This gets the tissue into the therapeutic heating range in approximately 8 – 10 minutes. And at 25% intensity, the patient may not feel any heating effects but, they are still receiving the other sub or non-thermal effects of diathermy.

For therapy recipients that are sensitive to heat, you can start them at a lower intensity (80 or 85%) or if during a therapy session at 100% they feel it is getting to hot, turn the intensity down to 80 or 85% and then even lower if necessary.
